CAFEC is one of Sanyo Sangyo's pioneering brands, established in 1973 in Japan. The company specializes in coffee brewing equipment and paper filters — notably, CAFEC was the first company in the world to develop cone-shaped coffee filters.

Initially operating as an OEM manufacturer for many major coffee brands, the company accumulated decades of experience producing high-quality filter papers and coffee brewing equipment.

With the philosophy of "wanting coffee lovers to enjoy truly delicious coffee at home," Sanyo Sangyo decided to launch its own brand CAFEC in 2016.

The specialty coffee market has grown dramatically worldwide. Consumers increasingly care about bean quality, brewing methods, and product origins. The "Third Wave Coffee" movement has transformed how people think about coffee.

Founder Shigeji Nakatsuka spent decades hand-roasting coffee and studying brewing methods. He calls hand-drip the "God hand" — because human hands control every variable: water volume, pouring speed, temperature, time.
